A single binary digit like 0 and 1 is referred to as a 'bit'. Binaries can only be made up of two numbers 0 and 1. An example would be 110100. In binaries we count in decimals, so it would only go up to 9.

It can only go up to 9 and then go back to 0 and 1 on the left.
An example we did in the lecture is:

We divided by 2 each time with a remainder.
We have to read the right hand column from bottom up. So the binary code will be 101010.
