Maths

Yesterday in our Maths lecture we were taught Binaries. On this page I will be reflecting on what we learnt in this lecture.

A single binary digit like 0 and 1 is referred to as a 'bit'. Binaries can only be made up of two numbers 0 and 1. An example would be 110100. In binaries we count in decimals, so it would only go up to 9.

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

It can only go up to 9 and then go back to 0 and 1 on the left.

An example we did in the lecture is:

42
21   0
10   1
5     0
2     1
1     0
       1

We divided by 2 each time with a remainder.

We have to read the right hand column from bottom up. So the binary code will be 101010.

If you were struggling to remember the maths that came up this year I would recommend to go to the LDU, they are really helpful.
